Deloitte Acquires Altos Management Partners By Business Team
Deloitte, LLP has acquired energy consultants Altos Management Partners and energy market modeling company MarketPoint. Altos Management Partners and MarketPoint, which is best known for its analytic suite MarketBuilder, were founded in 1995. Business Team represented, marketed and consulted Altos Management in the buyout. Deloitte US partner Andy Dunn has been appointed managing partner of Deloitte MarketPoint, which is located within the Deloitte Centre for Energy Solutions. "[The acquisitions] will allow Deloitte to provide the energy industry with decision support solutions, including MarketBuilder, its models and data, in addition to consulting services," Dunn said. MarketPoint founder Dale Nesbitt joined Deloitte as part of the acquisition. Nesbitt is well known in the energy industry for his market analysis modelling tools, including the North American Regional Gas Model, the World Gas Trade Model, the World Oil Model, the Western European Gas Model and the North American Regional Electricity Model. Deloitte said the acquisitions will provide clients with the ability to gain a better understanding of market fundamentals for energy commodities, including oil, gas, refinery products, electricity and coal.
